GRAND MOOKAMBIKA -#Mangalorean #Foodfestival, NAVI MUMBAI

Mangalorean Cuisine (Tulu: ಕುಡ್ಲದ ವನಸ್) is a collective name given to the cuisine of Tulunadu which comprises cuisines like Udupi as well as cuisine of other Mangalorean communities like that of the Bunts, Mogaveeras, Billavas, Rajapur Saraswat Brahmins, Goud Saraswat Brahmins, Mangalorean Catholics and the Bearys.
Mangalorean cuisine is largely influenced by the South Indian cuisine, with several cuisines being unique to the diverse communities of the region. Coconut and curry leaves are common ingredients to most Mangalorean curry, as are ginger, garlic and chili. Mangalorean Fish Curry is popular dish in Karnataka. Well-known Tuluva dishes include Neer Dosa,Masala Dosa,"Chicken Ghee Roast","Chicken Sukka",Kori Rotti (dry rice flakes dipped in gravy), Bangude Pulimunchi (spicy sour silver-grey mackerels), Beeja-Manoli Upkari, Neer dosa (lacy rice-crêpes), Boothai Gasi, Kadubu, and Patrode. The Konkani community's specialities include Daali thoy, bibbe-upkari (cashew based), val val, avnas ambe sasam, Kadgi chakko, paagila podi, and chane gashi. Vegetarian cuisine in Mangalore, also known as Udupi cuisine, is known and liked throughout the state and region. Since Mangalore is a coastal town, fish forms the staple diet of most people

I was invited by The Bayleaf Multicuisine Restaurant which is located inside Hotel Grand Mookambika, Koparkhairane. The ongoing Mangalorean Food Festival made me .......tempting to visit this place.....

Was happy to see the balance affair of dishes. Vegetarians too had lots of choices.

NEER DOSA- literally meaning water dosa in Tulu Language is a crêpe prepared from rice batter. Neer dosa is a delicacy from Tulu Nadu region and part of Udupi - Mangalorean cuisine.

STARTED WITH WELCOME DRINK –Step into this beautifully made restaurant and i feel like a royal with their fine WARM WELCOME impeccable service and of course lovely food.

All had a distinctive flavour and texture.

Location & Parking: Elite diner located at the centre of city with valet parking.

Ambience: Positive. Open kitchen with comfy seating is well-maintained.

Food Variety: Positive.

Taste: Positive. Simple yet bold flavours sings well, if the few glitches were perfected then the dining experience shall be complete.

Quality & Quantity: Positive. Overall food quality and presentation is commendable.

Service: excellent

Overall, relish some authentic cuisine from the coastal city with friends & family in Mumbai worth a visit. 5/5
Great place, great food and great service are rarely found together but this place made me and forced me to give full 5 on 5 with any hesitation… Courteous service added to the experience.
