It is truly said that "There is no sincerer love than the love of food".And as a chef I can tell that there is always something new and amazing to learn whether you are learning from an accomplished chef or young chef. Keeping all these things in mind,Young Chef Olympiad,India-2016 organised by India's largest hotel chain,,International Institute of hotel management(IIHM) which is also supported by Ministry of Tourism,Govt of India.
Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) - A platform to connect young chefs globally and build bridges for talent in this field across borders.It also aims at blending culinary cultures and making it an integral part of the Children's lives.The main purpose is to find and connected talent across borders from the best culinary colleges under one roof and also to scale up every year and globally reach out to as many countries as possible for the culinary event.
This year on INDIA'S 67th Republic Day,India will witness 67+ Top Students Chef with 67+ Countries,67+ Culinary College for for one grand title and a cash prize of $10,000.Each country will be sending in their best student chef along with their chef mentors to compete for the winning honor. This year the YCO will see the best of the culinary art students from England, France, Malaysia, China, Switzerland,Australia, USA, Spain, Sweden, Honk Kong,Canada and more.
The event will be held six days and four cities.Starting with a grand opening ceremony on 27th Jan 2016 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi where 5000 Food bloggers will be present along with the CEO and many great chef's.The first round will be played at three cities of india-28 jan in New Delhi,29 jan in mumbai and Bangalore according to their groups and from 30 jan-1 feb the second round will follow with a Grand Finale at 1 feb in Kolkata.
The Jury from around the world will travel along with the teams to choose and crown the winner. Renowned names on the judge’s panel for the second edition of YCO include Chef Eric Neo – President of the Singapore Chef Association and Executive Chef of Intercontinental Singapore; Chef Kunal Kapur – Indian Celebrity Chef and Ms Karen Anand – Indian Celebrity Food Critic among many more.
