Sobia is one of the most common and sweetest drink given in the deserts especially in the hot months of Ramazan. Egyptian Sobia is a sweet starchy coconut milk. The texture is slightly thick, and creamy, and it tastes a little like a melted vanilla shake.
INGREDIENTS
Dry uncooked raw rice 4 tbsps
Water 2 cups
Sugar ½ cup
Powdered milk ½ cup
Grated coconut/dry coconut ½ cup (grind to a fine paste)
Milk 2 cups
Vanilla essence 1tsp
Water 2 cups
Sugar ½ cup

METHOD
1)Start by grinding the rice to a fine dry powder. Ina small bowl add the powdered rice and add 2 cups of water. Stir it well and cover. Soak the mixture inside the fridge overnight or at least 6 hours.
2)After 6 hours, add the soaked rice, add coconut paste followed by milk, milk powder,sugar and vanilla essence inside the blender and blend well.
3)Strain with a cheese cloth or tea strainer. Chill and serve. Enjoy

This recipe has been given by my Qatari friend,and I have always enjoyed having it in her house.This is the first time I made it at home,believe me it is extremely yummy and stomach feels chill and cool as you gulp it down..
