Burmese lentil soup

2 tbsp tuvar dal or masoor dal
1 tbsp moong dal
5-8 shallots
1 small potato
2 inch ginger
3-5 garlic cloves
1 TSP ghee
Salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder.
Method
In a pan, add a drop of ghee. Put 3-5 peppercorns. Add ginger n garlic n saute few seconds. Add the dal n a cup of water. Add salt n turmeric powder. Let the dal cook completely. It should be mashy. Add enough water to make it thin soup consistency n let it boil well. In a pan, add lil ghee. Add sliced shallots n thinly sliced potato and lil salt. Add this tadka to the soup. Add some pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves n few mint leaves.
