hungry head-Are you a real foodie?








Maggi might be best served at home, under two minutes. But we know that there are as many variations of Maggi as there are fans of it, and whenever we’re in the mood to experiment – while keeping one foot firmly in our comfort zone – here’s where we head.

Maggi products have been revoked from the shelves; seems like most of the guys have removed “cooking” as a hobby from their resume. Yes! Because we grew up eating Maggi, especially hostelers and bachelors. Be it an evening snack, movie-time snack, dinner, breakfast, sometimes even lunch, a pack of Maggi does it all.  Most important of all is its easy-to-cook form as it gets ready in just a matter of minutes, thanks to the attractive TV commercials featuring celebrated star.

Maggi has that magical flavour and taste, which induces us to eat more and more. That actually comes from a compound called MSG i.e. Mono Sodium Glutamate, which is a sodium salt of glutamic acid. Whereas, all the Maggi packs comes with a tag No MSG and Nestle stands by it even now (Check this - No MSG in Maggi Noodles, says Nestle). 




Maggi is love, maggi is life, tastes better when served hot in a cup.

Hungry Head is heaven in a stall. Inside the Hakone gaming arena next to Powai Plaza, this place has so many options for Maggi, you will want to have them all at once. Seating is outdoors right next to it, so if the weather permits you could do that or have it delivered or to-go. Nothing will disappoint you. Personally, I have relished the finger chips with schezwan mayo sauce, bbq mayo sauce, thousand island mayo sauce , salsa mayo sauce , pesto mayo sauce and tandoori mayo sauce..

MSG is utilized extensively in the food industry as a flavour enhancer to bring a pleasant spicy taste. It is produced by fermentation, a procedure similar to making beer or yogurt. It is the perfect substitution for the naturally occurring glutamate present in tomatoes, potatoes, Parmesan cheese and mushrooms. It increases the meaty, savoury flavour in the food products. And your guess is right, it is particularly popular among Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisines.

MSG is a common ingredient in soups and stews that we used to have before the main course. The idea behind this is, MSG supplemented soup motivates and stimulates us to eat more and stay healthy. But the so-called intelligent species existing on earth, humans have identified the commercial value in MSG. That resulted in Aji-no-moto, meaning the essence of taste. Well, this is a common ingredient present in almost all fried dishes that we are fond of. All kinds of noodles (not only Maggi), fried rice, fried chicken and every finger-licking food item contains MSG, I mean Aji-no-moto.

As I stated earlier, MSG supplemented products motivates the people to eat more. This in turn resulted in the increased use of MSG in food products as it can fetch more money to the food manufacturers. Whereas the permissible limit set by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for MSG in food products is 3 to 5 grams only.


Although there is no proven fact connecting MSG and any kind of lethal diseases, it is said that excessive consumption of MSG promotes slothfulness and also cause headache, nausea and twitching sensation in the mouth. If a person who is an allergic of glutamic acid consumes MSG supplemented products, he might face adverse health impacts.

The world knows it as MUMBAI  now, but it is and will always be "BOMBAY" for the people who love the city, this place HUNGRY HEAD which I discovered during the maggi ban was on my first to go list once the ban gets lifted.

               The quantity was amazing

Unique taste that they add to every maggi dish that they offer.If you love maggi, then this is definetly your place.All in all, this place is a true innovation in Maggi.  For the same love of Maggi , three young men came together and brought up this concept of Hungry Head about two years ago. ... .. The restaurant boasts of some 50 plus Maggi dishes....It’s a wonder what can be achieved with only 1 main ingredient as the focal point and build upon the flavours using other ingredients..



Of course, this managed to garner the attention of a well-known radio station, and their innovative concept was applauded by the CEO of Nestlé India too. Some of the most flavourful dishes at the most affordable prices. . There is a small open sitting area and the service is self-service, although they do take a little longer than usual to prepare the food. .BUT ITS YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... But it was daamn tasty!! Really really good!


the food journey never ends. This city gives everything when it comes to the four letter word "food".

With such delectable food from HUNGRY HEAD, your mind gets immersed with food thoughts and fills your heart and tummy with foodgasmic happiness.

 I love their presentation, food consistency and quality. It's A La Carte and portion is perfect for sharing.

YES I DID A REVIEW ON ZOMATO ...

One place that had all the attention and buzz even before they were open. And the hype just got multiplied once they were open, with heaps and heaps of MUMBAI human race attacking the place I was grateful that the place didn't open anywhere in the city limits (i.e. close to where I live). The travel time and being a fan of MAGGI  were the major reason that made me wait until the hype settled down.
